Above and beyond design and development, a users' positive experience is one of the most important aspects of a project; It keeps them loyal to the product and/or brand. I start every project by researching and collecting information with a client discovery form. This form is what the client fills out, which helps me determine their call to action and who their competitors are. I begin by proceeding to wireframes for all pages of the site and make sure both the client and user requirements are met.
My approach to user interface design is creating a style tile based on the clients requests and requirements. This shows the choices of the fonts, colors, layouts, textures, photographic assets to reflect the clients branded tone. The client then reviews, requests changes and approves their branding direction. I then begin creating ui comps that combine the wireframes and the approved branding together, starting to bring life to their project.
Communicating with a client or project manager takes skill and experience, which I find listening to them is the most important skill. A good listener gives a designer the ability to accurately receive and interpret their clients' needs. This discovery form helps save time by understanding the project goals, current branding, their competitors and any other services needed.
Regarding app design, I bring my branding and wireframes to life by creating interactive prototypes. This entails making an interactive prototype of user flows from start to finish across multiple screens. I use Figma to create flows for user flows and senarios used in testing.
